Wigan Football Shirts
Wigan Athletic Football club was founded in 1932. They are just now celebrating their only top flight run in the club’s history. Wigan is also the youngest club in the Premier League. They play home games at JJB Stadium in Wigan Greater Manchester England. The stadium capacity is 25,138 and has been home to the Wigan since 1999.
Home colours are blue and white and away colours are neon green/yellow and black. The major rivals for the Wigan are not another football club, but rather the local rugby league club called the Wigan Warriors. This has been a rivalry that has lasted a long time and dates back to before the club’s beginning.
Apparently at the heart of the rivalry is support since each struggle to gain the attendance and support of local fans. Wigan’s rise to Premiership after such a long history of near failure has made them a success story in English football. Rising to the top tier from the bottom tier in just 6 years gave the Wigan somewhat of a magical status. Oddly, however, Wigan games are poorly attended and in the 2007-2008 season had the lowest average attendance of any club in the division.
