Liverpool Football Shirts
Liverpool Football club is the most successful club in the history of English Football. Most of the team’s success began in 1959 when manager Bill Shankly was hired. He is credited for reshaping the team beginning with releasing 24 of the current Liverpool players. Liverpool under Shankly won their first European cup in 1975-76.
Liverpool was one of the teams involved in the incident at Heysel. Liverpool fans charged the Juventus fans which caused a retaining wall to fall killing 39 fans. Liverpool was given a ten year ban for playing in the tournament but it was later reduced to six years.
Liverpool have always played in red as their home shirt. Their away shirt has seen many colours but is currently grey. The is based at Anfield in Stanley Park which is classed as Liverpool's spiritual home but a new stadium expected to be completed in 2011 will be the new home for Liverpool. The Club song is “You’ll Never Walk Alone” which was a song from the musical Carousel but later recorded by Gerry & the Pacemakers who are Liverpool musicians. Their biggest rival is Everton.
